Diablo are delighted to be a key sponsor of this years inaugural Junction Festival of contemporary arts, which is taking place in Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton on 2nd and 3rd of September 2011.
This lively two-day festival will bring together a broad spectrum of work from local and regional artists, including visual art, live art, video projection and music. Junction will happen amongst the everyday life of Chapel Ash with artists’ work appearing in cafes, showrooms, public houses as well as on the street. Festival goers will get a chance to enjoy a wide range of art including; graphic novels, shadow box projections, fabric sculptures and live art.
Over the course of the weekend there will also be live music to include busking during the day, and live bands and solo artists in the evenings. Festival goers will also have the opportunity to look around artist’s studios – White Tree Studios and Gallery and Eagle Works will be opening their doors during the weekend. Junction is organised by Wolverhampton Contemporary Art Forum (WCAF), a group comprised of practising visual artists, performance artists and musicians. The aim of WCAF is to raise the profile of contemporary art in Wolverhampton and to promote the networking of visual artists across the city.
Having teamed up with WCAF to support the festival, we at Diablo are looking forward to immersing ourselves in the creativity and experimentation which this weekend of contemporary arts will offer.
Following our work for five TV, I was asked to appear on the The Gadget Show as part of a Suzi versus Jason challenge. A regular feature of The Gadget Show, Suzi faces a weekly challenge against Jason Bradbury – this time the battlefield was online gaming. Suzi kindly asked me to get involved with the branding of her game and having already designed the Suzi Perry identity, I incorporated this work into a whole new range of Suzi caricatures for use in her online flash game. My involvement throughout the challenge was filmed by Channel Five and the show featuring yours truly was aired on April 4th 2011.
